ERIE, Pa. (Interstat) — Qadir Martin scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds Saturday to lead Mercyhurst to a 91-83 men’s basketball victory over Long Island at Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

The teams were tied 45-45 at halftime before the Lakers pulled away. Martin’s performance paced five Mercyhurst players in double figures. Jamal Fuller led all scorers with 26 points for the Sharks.

Mercyhurst improved to 14-15 overall. Long Island fell to 19-10. The Lakers shot 54% from the field and committed only seven turnovers, overcoming a 31-point effort from Long Island’s Fuller. Attendance was 956.
