Campbell at North Carolina A&T
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency will meet Saturday when the Campbell Fightin’ Camels visit the North Carolina A&T Aggies in a Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball matchup.
The game at Corbett Sports Center pits teams with nearly identical records. Campbell arrives at 11-13 overall after an emphatic 81-60 home win over Drexel on Thursday. North Carolina A&T, meanwhile, looks to rebound from a 78-62 road loss at College of Charleston that same afternoon, which dropped its record to 9-13.
The Fightin’ Camels have shown flashes, following a three-game skid with consecutive victories. Their offense erupted for 104 points in a win at William & Mary on Jan. 31 before Thursday’s dominant performance. A key catalyst is guard Dovydas Butka, who scored a season-high 26 points in 33 minutes against Drexel. His playmaking will be crucial against the Aggies’ defense.
North Carolina A&T will counter with high-scoring guard Lewis Walker, who has been a bright spot during a 2-5 stretch over the last seven games. Walker is averaging 24.7 points over his last three contests, including a 33-point, 7-rebound effort in a win over Towson on Jan. 24. He scored 23 in the loss to Charleston and will be the focal point of the Aggies’ attack.
Campbell’s recent success has been fueled by balanced scoring. Alongside Butka, Jeremiah Johnson (19 points) and DJ Smith (16 points) were major contributors against Drexel. Containing that trio will be a primary challenge for an A&T squad that has allowed an average of 79.3 points in its last three games.
The Aggies have found more success at home recently, winning two of their last three at Corbett Sports Center, both in nail-biting fashion over Hofstra and Towson. They will need to replicate that defensive toughness to slow a Campbell team that shot 54.7% from the field in its latest outing.
This contest is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the programs, who will meet again in Buies Creek on March 3. With the CAA tournament seeding at stake, both teams aim to build momentum in February.
Tip-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, in Greensboro.
