Kentucky at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — A surging Arkansas team hosts a reeling Kentucky squad in a pivotal Southeastern Conference men’s basketball clash Saturday at Bud Walton Arena.
The Razorbacks (16-5, 6-2 SEC) have won five of their last six, including an 83-79 road victory at Oklahoma on Tuesday. They are led by dynamic guard Darius Acuff Jr., who is averaging 22.1 points and 7.4 assists over his last eight games. His backcourt duel with Kentucky’s Otega Oweh will be central to the outcome.
The Wildcats (14-7, 5-3) are looking to rebound from a stunning 80-55 blowout loss at Vanderbilt, a performance that halted a four-game winning streak. Oweh has been a consistent bright spot, scoring at least 18 points in eight straight contests. Kentucky’s defense, which allowed Vanderbilt to shoot 54%, will be tested by an Arkansas offense averaging 88.4 points at home.
Arkansas holds a slight edge in the standings and boasts a formidable 10-1 record at Bud Walton Arena this season. Kentucky, however, has shown resilience on the road with key SEC wins at Tennessee and LSU earlier this month.
The Razorbacks won both meetings last season. A victory for Arkansas would solidify its position near the top of the conference, while Kentucky aims to avoid a damaging second straight league loss.
Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CST Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPN.
