Eastern Kentucky at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. (Interstat) — A recent overtime thriller and a pair of dynamic guards will set the stage when Central Arkansas hosts Eastern Kentucky in an ASUN Conference men’s basketball matchup Saturday at Farris Center.

The Bears (11-10) seek to avenge a 79-75 overtime loss to the Colonels on Jan. 10 in Richmond, Ky., and continue their push above .500. Eastern Kentucky (7-15) looks to snap a three-game skid and replicate its earlier success against Central Arkansas.

All eyes will be on the backcourt, where Central Arkansas’ Camren Hunter and Eastern Kentucky’s Montavious Myrick are coming off prolific performances. Hunter exploded for 31 points in the Bears’ 100-90 road win at Queens (N.C.) on Wednesday. Over his last five games, the guard is averaging 21.4 points.

Myrick has been a consistent bright spot for the Colonels despite their struggles, scoring in double figures in eight consecutive games. He had 16 points in Eastern Kentucky’s most recent outing, a 90-82 home loss to Austin Peay on Wednesday. In the first meeting against Central Arkansas, Myrick contributed six points and six rebounds.

The Bears have found a rhythm offensively, averaging 89.2 points during their current 4-2 stretch. Alongside Hunter, Luke Moore (19 points) and Cole McCormick (19 points) provided significant support in the win at Queens.

Eastern Kentucky has shown it can compete in close conference games, with four of its last six losses coming by six points or fewer, including two in overtime. Tyler Jackson, who scored 19 points against Austin Peay, provides a secondary scoring option alongside Myrick.

Central Arkansas holds a clear advantage in the standings and will play in front of a home crowd where they are 7-3 this season. Eastern Kentucky, however, has proven it can beat the Bears and will rely on its defensive effort to contain Hunter’s hot hand and force a lower-scoring affair than Central Arkansas prefers.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, in Conway.
