Rhode Island at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. (Interstat) — The Davidson Wildcats will look to extend their winning streak and solidify their position near the top of the Atlantic 10 when they host the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday at Belk Arena.

Davidson (10-5, 2-1 A-10) enters on a two-game conference win streak, most recently a 79-64 road victory at Loyola Chicago on Wednesday. The Wildcats are powered by guard Parker Friedrichsen, who erupted for 27 points in that win. Over his last five games, Friedrichsen is averaging 15.2 points and has scored in double figures four times.

Rhode Island (9-7, 0-3) is seeking its first conference win amid a three-game skid. The Rams fell 79-72 to La Salle at home on Wednesday, despite 18 points from guard Jonah Hinton. Hinton has been a bright spot, averaging 14 points per game over the last five contests, including a 20-point performance in a win over Canisius last month.

The matchup pits Davidson’s efficient offense against a Rhode Island team struggling to find consistency in league play. The Wildcats have shown resilience, including a double-overtime loss to Duquesne and a hard-fought road win at Saint Joseph’s. The Rams’ conference losses have come by an average of 8.3 points.

Historically, Davidson holds a narrow edge in the series, but Rhode Island won the last meeting in the 2025 A-10 Tournament. Saturday’s contest is a crucial opportunity for the Rams to right their league campaign and for the Wildcats to protect their home court.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. Davidson travels to George Washington next Wednesday, while Rhode Island hosts VCU on Jan. 14.
