SHELBY, N.C. (Interstat) — Kareem Rozier scored 33 points to lead Winthrop to a 103-85 victory over Gardner-Webb in a Big South Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at Paul Porter Arena.

The Eagles built a commanding 55-35 halftime lead and never looked back, shooting 18 for 35 from 3-point range. Logan Duncomb added 24 points and six assists for Winthrop, which improved to 19-8.

Jacob Hogarth led the Runnin’ Bulldogs with 20 points. Gardner-Webb, which shot well inside with 36 paint points, fell to 3-23.

Winthrop’s efficient offense, which committed only 11 turnovers, proved too much for the struggling home team in front of an announced crowd of 355.
