NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (Interstat) — Kevair Kennedy scored 23 points and Tye Dorset added 16 as Merrimack defeated Quinnipiac 83-71 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Volpe Athletic Center.

The Warriors used a dominant first half, building a 50-31 lead at halftime, to secure the victory before a crowd of 1,300. The Bobcats outscored Merrimack in the second half but could not overcome the early deficit.

Amarri Monroe led all scorers with 24 points for Quinnipiac. Jaden Zimmerman added 15 and Asim Jones had 13.

Merrimack improved to 11-8. Quinnipiac fell to 12-7.
