DENTON, Texas (Interstat) — North Texas defeated Memphis 76-69 in an American Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at North Texas Coliseum. The Mean Green sealed the victory at the free-throw line, making 31 of 41 attempts compared to Memphis’ 13 of 15.

The Tigers led 32-33 at halftime, but North Texas opened the second half on a 10-2 run and never trailed again. Memphis’ Sincere Parker scored a game-high 20 points. North Texas was led by David Terrell with 14 points and Je’Shawn Stevenson with 16. The Mean Green improved to 14-11 overall, while Memphis fell to .500 at 12-12. Attendance was 3,395.
