GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Florida Gators used a dominant first half to cruise past the LSU Tigers 79-61 in a Southeastern Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at O’Connell Center.

Florida built a 38-26 halftime lead and maintained its double-digit advantage throughout the second half before a crowd of 10,593. The Gators improved to 14-5 overall, while LSU fell to 13-6. Florida was a heavy pregame favorite and easily covered the spread, though the combined score fell well under the projected total. The Gators’ efficient offense proved too much for LSU, which has now lost four of its last six conference games.
