(Interstat) — Evansville edged Indiana State 72-69 in a Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Hulman Center, overcoming a halftime deficit to secure the road victory. The Sycamores led 38-35 at the break, but the Purple Aces outscored them 37-31 in the second half. Ian Scott led all scorers with 24 points for Indiana State. Joshua Hughes scored 14 points for Evansville. The upset defied pregame projections that heavily favored the Sycamores. Attendance was 4,782. Evansville improved to 5-13, while Indiana State fell to 8-9.
