Omaha at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (Interstat) — The undefeated LSU Tigers look to continue their dominant start to the season when they host the Omaha Mavericks in a non-conference men’s basketball game Friday at the Maravich Assembly Center.

LSU (4-0) has won each of its first four games by at least 15 points, most recently routing Alcorn State 107-81 on Tuesday. Michael Nwoko led the charge with 29 points in just 19 minutes, while Dedan Thomas added 16 points and six assists. The Tigers are averaging 98.8 points per game.

Omaha (1-3) arrives in Baton Rouge seeking momentum after securing its first win of the season, a 90-85 home victory over Southern Utah on Saturday. Tony Osburn erupted for 27 points in the win, and Grant Stubblefield contributed 15 points and six assists.

The matchup pits LSU’s high-powered offense against an Omaha squad that has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 85.5 points through its first four games. All three of the Mavericks’ losses have come on the road.

Following this game, LSU travels to face Drake in Niceville, Florida, on Nov. 28. Omaha will head to Miami to play James Madison on Nov. 25.
