Maryland-Eastern Shore at Georgia
ATHENS, Ga. (Interstat) — The Georgia Bulldogs will open their 2025-26 men’s basketball season on Wednesday, Nov. 5, hosting the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks at Stegeman Coliseum.
Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking to start a new campaign on a positive note. For the Bulldogs, the game marks their first action since a season-ending 89-68 loss to Gonzaga in the NIT on March 20, 2025.
The Hawks, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, last played on March 12, 2025, falling 77-70 to Norfolk State. This game is the first of a challenging non-conference road stretch for Maryland-Eastern Shore, which includes upcoming games at Nebraska, Creighton and Virginia.
Georgia’s early schedule features a mix of home contests and neutral-site tests. Following the opener, the Bulldogs will host Morehead State on Nov. 9 before a marquee home matchup against in-state rival Georgia Tech on Nov. 14.
Wednesday’s game will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. It serves as a tune-up for both sides before they dive into more rigorous portions of their respective schedules.
