Indiana State at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. (Interstat) — A Missouri Valley Conference rematch of a triple-overtime thriller highlights Wednesday’s college basketball slate as Bradley hosts Indiana State at Carver Arena.

The Braves (13-7, 4-3 MVC) outlasted the Sycamores (9-10, 3-4) 108-99 in a marathon contest on Dec. 18 in Terre Haute. Both teams enter this week’s game looking to rebound from road losses this past Saturday.

Bradley was handled 88-62 at Illinois State, a game where leading scorer AJ Smith was limited to 11 points. Smith, a key guard for the Braves, has been inconsistent in conference play but is coming off a 18-point performance in a win over Drake on Jan. 7.

Indiana State fell 85-81 at Murray State despite a 20-point effort from guard Camp Wagner. Wagner has been the Sycamores’ most consistent offensive threat, averaging 14.3 points over his last seven games, including a 34-point outing in the first meeting with Bradley.

The Braves have been strong at home this season, posting a 9-1 record at Carver Arena. Their conference losses have come on the road. Indiana State has struggled to find consistency, alternating wins and losses over its past six games.

Wednesday’s matchup will hinge on which team can control the tempo. Bradley’s defense, which allows just 68.2 points per game at home, will aim to contain Wagner and improve upon a defensive effort that allowed 108 points in the first meeting. Indiana State, which averages 77.6 points per game, will need secondary scoring to support Wagner to challenge the Braves’ home-court advantage.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CST tip-off. Following this contest, Bradley will host Illinois-Chicago on Saturday, while Indiana State returns home to face Drake.
