Auburn at Missouri

Preview: Auburn Tigers at Missouri Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo. (Interstat) — A pair of Tigers will clash in a pivotal Southeastern Conference matchup Wednesday night as Auburn visits Missouri at Mizzou Arena.

Missouri (12-4) enters with the stronger overall record, but is looking to rebound from a 76-69 road loss at Mississippi this past Saturday. Auburn (10-6) arrives with momentum after a dominant 95-73 home victory over Arkansas that same day, snapping a two-game skid.

The game features two of the league’s most dynamic forwards in a head-to-head battle. Auburn’s Keyshawn Hall is averaging 23.0 points over his last five games, including a 30-point, 5-assist performance against Arkansas. His recent stretch also features a 32-point outing in a narrow loss to Texas A&M.

Missouri will counter with Mark Mitchell, who is coming off a 20-point, 7-assist effort in the loss to Ole Miss. Mitchell was instrumental in the team’s recent wins over Kentucky and Florida, scoring 21 and 14 points, respectively.

The contest represents a critical early conference test for both teams. Auburn has shown a high-powered offense, scoring 100 points in an overtime loss at Georgia, but has struggled on the road, including blowout losses at Purdue and Arizona. Missouri’s record is bolstered by a perfect home mark against non-conference opponents, but the team suffered a lopsided 91-48 defeat at Illinois in December.

Auburn’s recent success has been fueled by Hall’s scoring alongside contributions from Elyjah Freeman and KeShawn Murphy, who combined for 29 points against Arkansas. Missouri relies on Mitchell’s all-around play, with support from guards like Jayden Stone and forward Shawn Phillips.

The home team has won the last three meetings in the series. Missouri will aim to protect its home court and solidify its conference standing, while Auburn seeks a statement road win to build on its Arkansas performance.
