Arkansas at Auburn

Preview: Arkansas at Auburn in SEC Showdown

AUBURN, Ala. (Interstat) — Two Southeastern Conference teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the surging Arkansas Razorbacks visit the reeling Auburn Tigers at Auburn Arena.

Arkansas (12-3, 2-0 SEC) enters on a five-game winning streak, including an impressive 2-0 start in conference play with victories over then-Tennessee and at Mississippi. The Razorbacks’ high-octane offense has averaged 94.6 points during the streak.

Auburn (9-6, 0-2), meanwhile, seeks to avoid an 0-3 conference start after consecutive heartbreaking losses. The Tigers fell 104-100 in overtime at Georgia last Saturday, then suffered a 90-88 home loss to Texas A&M on Tuesday.

The matchup features two of the league’s most dynamic scorers. Arkansas is led by sophomore guard Darius Acuff Jr., who is averaging 23.7 points and 7.2 assists over his last six games. He posted 26 points and nine assists in Wednesday’s 94-87 win at Ole Miss.

Auburn will counter with junior forward Keyshawn Hall, who is coming off a 32-point performance against Texas A&M and is averaging 21.2 points per game in SEC play. Hall’s scoring prowess will be vital for a Tigers squad that has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 97 points in its two conference games.

The Razorbacks have shown balance behind Acuff, with forward Trevon Brazile (18 points at Ole Miss) providing a consistent interior threat. Auburn will need more production beyond Hall, as seen in the Georgia loss where five Tigers scored in double figures but the defense could not secure a stop in overtime.

Historically a fortress, Auburn Arena has provided little advantage this season; the Tigers are just 1-2 in their last three home games, with the two losses by a combined four points.

For Arkansas, a win would solidify its status as an SEC frontrunner. For Auburn, it represents a critical opportunity to salvage its early conference hopes and gain a signature victory before a daunting schedule continues.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. The teams will meet again in Fayetteville on Feb. 14.
