Mississippi Valley State at Texas A&M
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Interstat) — The Texas A&M Aggies look to build on a dominant offensive performance when they host the struggling Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday at Reed Arena.
The Aggies (4-2) are coming off a 109-68 rout of Manhattan on Friday, where Ruben Dominguez scored 30 points. Texas A&M has won three of its last four games, with its only loss in that stretch coming against UCF.
Mississippi Valley State (1-6) enters on a six-game losing streak following an 86-70 defeat at Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday. The Delta Devils’ lone win came against MUW, an NCAA Division III opponent, on Nov. 5. They have allowed an average of 91.4 points in their six losses.
In the loss to Cal State Bakersfield, Daniel Mayfield led the Delta Devils with 22 points, while Michael James added 20.
The matchup pits a high-scoring Texas A&M offense against a Mississippi Valley State defense that has struggled to contain opponents. The Aggies are averaging 89.8 points per game at home this season.
Tuesday’s game is the first meeting between the programs. Texas A&M will travel to face Florida State on Friday. Mississippi Valley State’s next game is at Louisiana-Monroe on Dec. 3.
