HOUSTON (Interstat) — Izaiyah Nelson scored 24 points to lead South Florida to a 75-56 victory over Rice in an American Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Tudor Fieldhouse.

The Bulls never trailed, opening with a 10-0 run and leading 39-31 at halftime. They pulled away in the second half, holding the Owls to 25 points after the break. South Florida’s defense forced 23 turnovers, converting them into 28 points.

Joseph Pinion added 15 points for South Florida, which improved to 20-8. Isaiah Jones and Josh Omojafo scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Cam Carroll led Rice with 13 points. Nick Anderson and Trae Broadnax added 12 and 10 points for the Owls, who fell to 11-17.
