Utah State Looks to Extend Win Streak at Grand Canyon
PHOENIX (Interstat) — The surging Utah State Aggies, boasting one of the nation’s top records, will face a road test against the Grand Canyon Antelopes on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at GCU Arena.
Utah State (15-1) enters on a nine-game winning streak, most recently defeating Nevada 71-62 on Wednesday. The Aggies have dominated conference play, winning their last five by an average of 24.2 points. Their lone loss came at South Florida on Dec. 4.
Grand Canyon (10-6) seeks to rebound from an 87-64 road loss to New Mexico on Tuesday. The Antelopes have been strong at home, posting a 7-1 record in Phoenix this season, including a notable 68-58 win over Utah in November.
A key matchup will feature Utah State guard Mason Falslev against Grand Canyon’s Jaden Henley. Falslev is averaging 18.1 points per game during the win streak and is coming off a 26-point performance against Nevada. Henley leads the Antelopes’ attack, scoring 17 points in the loss to New Mexico and dropping 29 points in a win over IUPUI last month.
The Aggies’ offense has been prolific, scoring 90 or more points in five games this season. Grand Canyon’s defense, which allows an average of 66.1 points, will be challenged to slow that pace. The Antelopes have shown resilience, following their only other double-digit loss with a three-game winning streak.
This non-conference clash pits Utah State’s elite efficiency against Grand Canyon’s home-court advantage. The Aggies have not played since Wednesday, while GCU will be on its usual one-day prep after returning from Albuquerque.
Following this game, Utah State returns home to host UNLV on Jan. 20. Grand Canyon remains at home to face San Diego State on Jan. 21.
