HADLEY, Ky. (Interstat) — Teagan Moore scored 28 points to lead Western Kentucky to a 102-91 comeback victory over Sam Houston in a Conference USA men’s basketball opener Friday night at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The Hilltoppers trailed 49-42 at halftime but erupted for 60 second-half points to overtake the Bearkats. Moore added six rebounds and three assists for Western Kentucky. Sam Houston’s Veljko Ilic recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Isaiah Manning scored a team-high 23 points.

The win, before a crowd of 3,645, moved both teams to 8-5 overall. Western Kentucky was a 4.5-point pregame favorite. The teams meet again Jan. 24 in Huntsville, Texas.
