Clemson at Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Interstat) — A surging Clemson team aims to close 2025 with a statement road win when the Tigers visit the Syracuse Orange in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball matchup Wednesday at the Carrier Dome.

Clemson (10-3) enters on a three-game winning streak, most recently edging Cincinnati 68-65 on Dec. 21. The Tigers have shown resilience in close games, with a 3-2 record in contests decided by five points or fewer. Syracuse (8-4) has won three straight since a one-point loss to Hofstra, including a 77-48 rout of Stonehill on Monday.

The matchup features two of the ACC’s top guards. Clemson’s Dillon Hunter is coming off a versatile performance against Cincinnati, posting 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Over his last six games, the guard is averaging 11.8 points and 4.2 assists, serving as a primary catalyst for the Tigers’ offense.

Syracuse will counter with dynamic guard Naithan George, who has scored 22 points in two of his last three outings. He poured in 22 points with six assists in a win over Northeastern on Dec. 20 and matched that point total against Stonehill. His backcourt pairing with JJ Starling, who had 20 points Monday, gives the Orange a potent offensive combination.

Clemson’s record is bolstered by a perfect 7-0 mark at home, but the Tigers are 3-3 in true road and neutral-site games, including losses at Alabama and BYU. Syracuse has been strong at the Dome, going 7-1, with the lone blemish being the stunning last-second loss to Hofstra. The Orange’s four losses have come against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25 or receiving votes.

Historically, Syracuse holds a 12-5 advantage in the series, but Clemson has won two of the last three meetings. Wednesday’s contest is the ACC opener for both squads, setting the tone for a challenging January slate.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. EST and will be televised on the ACC Network.
