Lipscomb at Belmont
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Belmont Bruins, riding a wave of early-season momentum, will put their undefeated record on the line Wednesday when they host crosstown rival Lipscomb at Curb Events Center.
Belmont (3-0) has started strong with decisive home victories over Air Force and Tennessee State, followed by an 83-60 road win at Oral Roberts on Saturday. The Bruins have showcased a balanced attack, with Brigham Rogers (14 points), Jabez Jenkins (13 points) and Sam Orme (10 points) leading the way in their most recent outing.
They will face a Lipscomb team seeking stability after a challenging start. The Bisons (1-3) are coming off their first win, a 98-53 rout of Bryan College on Saturday. Grant Asman scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds in that contest, while Kellan Boylan added 11 points and eight boards.
That victory, however, followed three consecutive double-digit road losses to Vanderbilt, Mercer and UNC Asheville to open the season. The Bruins will present Lipscomb’s toughest test to date as the Bisons look to build consistency.
The matchup renews the “Battle of the Boulevard” rivalry between the two Nashville schools, adding a layer of intensity to the non-conference slate. Tipoff is set for Wednesday night.
