Cleveland State at Robert Morris
Preview: Cleveland State Vikings at Robert Morris Colonials
CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (Interstat) — A surging Robert Morris looks to continue its push toward the top of the Horizon League standings when it hosts a struggling Cleveland State team on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at the Charles L. Sewall Center.
The Colonials (20-10, 13-6 Horizon) enter the matchup having won six of their last seven games, including a commanding 85-68 victory at Cleveland State just over two weeks ago on Feb. 12. Robert Morris is coming off a 73-62 home win over Detroit on Wednesday, powered by a 29-point performance from standout guard Ryan Prather.
Prather has been instrumental in the Colonials’ success, averaging 18.4 points over his last seven games. He torched the Vikings for 25 points and six assists in the previous meeting this season.
Conversely, the Vikings (10-20, 7-12) are mired in a five-game losing streak following an 81-70 home loss to Northern Kentucky on Wednesday. Cleveland State has lost eight of its last 10 contests, with its last victory coming on Feb. 4.
Guard Tre Beard will be a key figure for the Vikings. He leads the team in scoring during conference play and is coming off a 14-point effort against Northern Kentucky. In Cleveland State’s last win, a 91-78 victory over Oakland on Feb. 4, Beard poured in 24 points and dished out nine assists.
The recent series has been dominated by Robert Morris, which has won the last three meetings. The Colonials’ balanced attack, which features additional scoring threats in DeSean Goode and Nikolaos Chitikoudis, will test a Cleveland State defense that has allowed an average of 90.2 points during its current five-game skid.
Saturday’s contest is a critical late-season opportunity for Robert Morris to solidify its seeding for the upcoming Horizon League tournament, while Cleveland State seeks to salvage a split of the season series and build momentum before the conference postseason.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
