Wright State at Purdue Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Interstat) — A pivotal Horizon League rematch is set for Wednesday night when the Wright State Raiders visit the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons at Gates Sports Center.

The Raiders (18-11) look to complete a regular-season sweep after edging the Mastodons 73-68 at home on Feb. 7. Purdue Fort Wayne (16-13) seeks to defend its home court and even the series, fueled by a potent offensive performance in its last outing.

Wright State enters after a disappointing 81-68 home loss to Robert Morris on Sunday, which snapped a two-game win streak. Guard Michael Cooper has been a consistent scorer, averaging 13.1 points over his last eight games. He scored 13 points in the first meeting against Purdue Fort Wayne.

The Mastodons are coming off an impressive 92-86 road victory at Cleveland State on Sunday, powered by a career-high 28 points and seven assists from dynamic guard Corey Hadnot. Hadnot, who averages 22.4 points per game, was held to 22 points in the loss at Wright State earlier this month and will be central to the Mastodons’ revenge plans.

The matchup features two of the league’s top offensive talents in Cooper and Hadnot, setting the stage for a high-scoring contest. Wright State averages 79.2 points per game, while Purdue Fort Wayne puts up 77.8 per contest.

With both teams jockeying for position ahead of the Horizon League tournament, this rematch carries significant weight. A win would bolster Wright State’s pursuit of a top conference seed, while Purdue Fort Wayne aims to build momentum from its Cleveland State upset and strengthen its postseason resume.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday. Purdue Fort Wayne travels to IU Indy on Saturday, while Wright State visits Northern Kentucky.
