Coyotes Edge Jackrabbits in Final Seconds of Summit League Thriller
BROOKINGS, S.D. (Interstat) — Uzziah Buntyn’s free throw with 1:20 remaining provided the decisive point as South Dakota edged South Dakota State 68-67 in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Saturday at Frost Arena.
The Coyotes (14-12, 8-5 Summit League) squandered an 11-point halftime lead as the Jackrabbits (11-14, 6-7) surged ahead in the second half. South Dakota State’s Joe Sayler scored 21 points and Damon Wilkinson added 18, but their final-minute jumper gave South Dakota a last possession. Jordan Crawford led the Coyotes with 19 points, while Buntyn had 15. Both teams shot under 44% from the floor in a defensive contest before a crowd of 4,291.
