Saint Joseph`s at George Mason
FAIRFAX, Va. (Interstat) — A surging Saint Joseph’s squad will face its toughest Atlantic 10 test of the season on Saturday when it visits conference powerhouse George Mason at EagleBank Arena.
The Patriots (20-3), among the nation’s winningest teams, look to rebound from a rare home loss to Duquesne on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Hawks (15-8) arrive on a four-game winning streak, including a 76-73 victory over George Washington that same night.
The matchup features a compelling duel at guard. Saint Joseph’s is led by Jaiden Glover, who is averaging 18.4 points over his last seven games. He scored 23 points in the win over George Washington. George Mason counters with veteran Jahari Long, who orchestrates the Patriots’ offense. Long is coming off a 17-point, 3-assist performance in the loss to Duquesne and has logged heavy minutes, playing 38 or more in three of the last four contests.
Saint Joseph’s has found its rhythm in conference play, winning seven of its last nine. Their recent success has been built on efficient offense, scoring 80 or more points in three of the past four games. George Mason’s resume remains formidable, with its three losses coming by a combined 15 points. The Patriots’ defense has been a staple, holding opponents under 75 points in 18 of 23 games.
Saturday’s contest is the first of a home-and-home series between the teams this month; they will meet again in Philadelphia on Feb. 25. For Saint Joseph’s, a win would signal its arrival as a true conference contender. For George Mason, it is an opportunity to reassert its dominance at home and solidify its position atop the A-10 standings.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
