Florida Gulf Coast at Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — Two ASUN Conference men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Bellarmine Knights host the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at Knights Hall.

Both teams enter with identical 10-win records overall, though Bellarmine sits at 10-13 and Florida Gulf Coast at 10-14. The matchup represents a critical opportunity for either squad to climb above .500 in conference play and gain footing in the league standings.

The Knights are riding high after a dominant 92-71 home victory over Stetson on Thursday. Senior guard Jack Karasinski led the charge with a game-high 26 points, continuing a torrid scoring stretch. Over his last five games, Karasinski is averaging 19.8 points per contest, providing a consistent offensive spark for Bellarmine.

Florida Gulf Coast arrives after a heartbreaking 76-74 road loss at Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, a game decided in the final seconds. The Eagles were paced by forward Isaiah Malone, who scored 18 points. Malone has been a versatile force, averaging 12.6 points and 3.1 blocks over his last eight games. His defensive presence inside will be key against a Bellarmine team that shot 56% from the field in its last outing.

The Eagles have struggled on the road this season, while Bellarmine has shown strength at home, including recent wins over Stetson and Queens (N.C.). The Knights’ offensive efficiency, currently ranked among the top in the ASUN, will be tested by an FGCU defense that has shown flashes of disruption, particularly with Malone protecting the rim.

Historically, the series has been tightly contested, adding another layer to Saturday’s pivotal conference clash. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Following this game, Bellarmine will travel to face Central Arkansas on Thursday, while Florida Gulf Coast will host North Florida on Wednesday.
