Campbell at William & Mary
Preview: Campbell at William & Mary
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Interstat) — A surging William & Mary squad will look to continue its climb in the Colonial Athletic Association standings when it hosts a struggling Campbell team on Saturday at Kaplan Arena.
The Tribe (14-6, 4-3 CAA) have won three straight conference games, most recently an 89-82 victory over Hofstra last Saturday. Their offense has been powered by junior forward Kilian Brockhoff, who erupted for 28 points in just 25 minutes in that win. Over his last three games, Brockhoff is averaging 19.3 points while shooting efficiently from the field.
Conversely, the Fightin’ Camels (9-12, 2-5) have lost four of their last five, including a 73-88 home defeat to Monmouth last weekend. Campbell has shown a pattern of playing tight games, with three of its last five losses coming by five points or fewer. Guard Jeremiah Johnson has been a consistent bright spot, scoring 21 points in the loss to Monmouth and averaging 17.1 points over his last seven contests.
William & Mary’s recent success has been built on a balanced attack and strong home-court advantage, where they are 9-2 this season. Beyond Brockhoff, Chase Lowe provides a steadying presence, coming off an 11-rebound, 4-assist performance against Hofstra.
Campbell, which has faced a tough early conference slate with four of its first seven CAA games on the road, will need more scoring support for Johnson. Tasos Cook and Cam Gregory, who each added 15 points against Monmouth, are key secondary options.
The teams will meet again in Buies Creek on Feb. 19, but Saturday’s matchup presents a clear contrast in momentum. William & Mary aims to solidify its position in the upper tier of the conference, while Campbell desperately seeks a road win to reverse its recent fortunes and gain traction before the February schedule intensifies.
Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, in Williamsburg.
