Gonzaga Edges San Francisco in Tight West Coast Conference Battle

SPOKANE, Wash. (Interstat) — Gonzaga held off a second-half surge from San Francisco for a 68-66 men’s basketball victory Saturday at a sold-out McCarthey Athletic Center.

The Bulldogs led 36-25 at halftime, but the Dons opened the second half with a flurry of three-pointers to close the gap. San Francisco shot 14 for 28 from beyond the arc, keeping constant pressure on the hosts.

Jalen Warley led Gonzaga with 19 points, while Davis Fogle and Tyon Grant-Foster each added 15. The Bulldogs offset poor three-point and free-throw shooting by forcing 14 turnovers.

Gonzaga improved to 21-1 overall. San Francisco fell to 13-9.
