North Dakota State at Oral Roberts

Bison, Golden Eagles Set for Summit League Rematch

TULSA, Okla. (Interstat) — A surging North Dakota State team visits a struggling Oral Roberts squad in a Summit League men’s basketball rematch Saturday at the Mabee Center.

The Bison (17-5, 6-1 Summit) enter on a seven-game winning streak, which includes a dramatic 79-77 double-overtime victory over these Golden Eagles on Jan. 3 in Fargo. NDSU is coming off an 82-77 road win at Denver on Thursday, led by 23 points from guard Trevian Carson.

Carson has been instrumental in the streak, averaging 15.9 points and 3.4 assists over the last seven contests. He scored 14 points in the first meeting with Oral Roberts.

The Golden Eagles (5-16, 1-6) have lost six straight since that narrow defeat, most recently a 79-62 home loss to North Dakota on Thursday. Guard Chase Martin, who scored 12 points in that game, will be a focus for the Oral Roberts offense. The team has struggled defensively during its skid, allowing an average of 82.8 points per game in conference play.

North Dakota State’s offense, averaging 78.6 points per game, will test that defense again. The Bison have shown resilience in close games, with four of their six conference wins coming by single digits.

Oral Roberts will aim to replicate its competitive performance from the first matchup, where it led late in regulation before falling in double overtime. Protecting home court is critical for the Golden Eagles to halt their slide and gain momentum for the second half of the league schedule.

Saturday’s contest is the only regular-season meeting in Tulsa between the programs this season.
