HADLEY, Mass. (Interstat) — Leonardo Bettiol scored 20 points to lead Massachusetts to an 84-82 men’s basketball victory over Toledo on Tuesday night at Mullins Center.

The Minutemen (12-8) held a narrow 35-34 halftime lead before both offenses surged after the break. The Rockets (10-9) were led by Leroy Blyden’s game-high 22 points. Sonny Wilson added 16 points and seven assists for Toledo.

Massachusetts had a balanced attack with Marcus Banks scoring 15 points and both Jayden Ndjigue and Daniel Hankins-Sanford adding 12 points each. Danny Carbuccia dished out nine assists for the Minutemen.

A crowd of 2,507 watched the back-and-forth nonconference game organized by the Mid-American Conference.
