Colorado Outlasts Arizona State in High-Scoring Big 12 Affair

TEMPE, Ariz. (Interstat) — Colorado edged Arizona State 95-89 in a Big 12 men’s basketball game Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena. The Buffaloes improved to 11-3 overall, while the Sun Devils fell to 9-5.

Sebastian Rancik led Colorado with 18 points. Arizona State’s Massamba Diop scored 20 points and blocked seven shots, and Maurice Odum added 21 points and 12 assists.

Colorado secured the win despite Arizona State’s 32 fastbreak points and 10 blocks. The Buffaloes were more efficient, shooting 49.2% from the floor and capitalizing at the free-throw line, making 32 of 38 attempts. Arizona State struggled from three-point range, shooting 6 for 28.

The Sun Devils, pregame favorites, could not overcome Colorado’s offensive execution down the stretch in a game that surpassed the projected point total.
