Cleveland State at Missouri
COLUMBIA, Mo. (Interstat) — The undefeated Missouri Tigers will look to extend their perfect start when they host the struggling Cleveland State Vikings in a nonconference men’s basketball game on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at Mizzou Arena.
Missouri (7-0) has dominated its early schedule, winning each game by an average of 25.6 points. In their most recent outing, a 98-66 rout of South Carolina State on Tuesday, the Tigers showcased a balanced attack. Mark Mitchell led the way with 15 points and six assists, while Shawn Phillips added 17 points and two blocks.
The Tigers have yet to be seriously tested, with their closest contest being a five-point victory over Southeast Missouri State in the season opener.
Cleveland State (3-5) is coming off a lopsided 109-56 win over Waynesburg on Tuesday, but that victory followed a three-game losing streak. Preist Ryan scored 21 points in the win, with Ice Emery adding 15 and Dayan Nessah contributing 14. The Vikings have struggled against higher-level competition, including a 110-63 loss at Northwestern and a 91-71 defeat at Kent State this season.
Friday’s matchup presents a stark contrast in momentum. Missouri’s high-powered offense will challenge a Cleveland State defense that has allowed an average of 86 points in its five losses.
For Missouri, this game serves as a final tune-up before a challenging stretch that includes a road game at Notre Dame and a showdown with rival Kansas. Cleveland State opens Horizon League play next week at Northern Kentucky.
