Tennessee State at UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt losing streaks will meet Tuesday when the UNC Asheville Bulldogs host the Tennessee State Tigers in a non-conference men’s basketball game at Kimmel Arena.

Both teams enter the contest with identical 2-3 records. The Tigers are looking to rebound from an 89-60 road loss to Tennessee on Thursday. Aaron Nkrumah led Tennessee State in that game with 19 points and five assists, while Travis Harper added 17 points. The Tigers’ two wins this season have come against lower-division opponents Oakwood and Fisk.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 73-80 loss at Western Carolina last Wednesday. In that game, Toyaz Solomon scored a team-high 22 points and blocked three shots, while Kameron Taylor added 17 points. UNC Asheville’s victories this season have come against Bryan and Lipscomb, with all three of their losses occurring on the road.

Tuesday’s game represents a final home contest for the Bulldogs before a three-game road trip, which includes a matchup at North Carolina State on Dec. 6. For Tennessee State, the game is part of a stretch of four consecutive road games. The Tigers will remain in the Volunteer State to face Tenn. Wesleyan in Chattanooga next Saturday.

Tipoff is set for Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025.
