Middle Tennessee at Michigan
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Interstat) — Two undefeated teams will clash Wednesday when the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders visit the Michigan Wolverines in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup.
Both teams enter the contest at Crisler Center with 3-0 records. Middle Tennessee is coming off a 77-72 road win over Evansville last Wednesday. Kamari Lands led the Blue Raiders with 23 points, while Jahvin Carter added 18 points and Sean Smith scored 17. Middle Tennessee’s high-powered offense has averaged 95.3 points through its first three games.
Michigan also earned a hard-fought road victory in its last outing, defeating Texas Christian 67-64 last Friday. The Wolverines were anchored by a strong frontcourt performance from Yaxel Lendeborg, who posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Morez Johnson, who added 10 points and 12 boards. Roddy Gayle Jr. facilitated the offense with 10 points and six assists.
The game pits Middle Tennessee’s potent scoring attack against a Michigan team that has already been tested in close contests, including an 85-84 overtime win over Wake Forest on Nov. 11.
This marks the first meeting between the programs. Following this game, Michigan will head to Las Vegas for a multi-team event, facing San Diego State and Auburn. Middle Tennessee will travel to Parry Sound, Ontario, for a similar event with games against Murray State, George Washington and McNeese State.
