Southern Utah at Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win over a Division I opponent will meet Saturday when the Southern Utah Thunderbirds visit the Omaha Mavericks at Baxter Arena.
Southern Utah (1-2) is coming off a dominant 118-60 victory over Bethesda on Tuesday. Jalen Lee led the way with 19 points in just 15 minutes, while Elijah Duval dished out eight assists. However, the Thunderbirds’ two losses have come against D-I competition, including a 95-72 defeat to Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
Omaha (0-3) is still searching for its first win after a challenging opening stretch on the road. The Mavericks fell 97-74 at Colorado State on Sunday, despite a 24-point performance from Tony Osburn. Lance Waddles added 18 points in the loss. All three of Omaha’s defeats have been by double digits.
The game represents a critical opportunity for both squads to build momentum before entering difficult stretches in their schedules. Southern Utah faces a quick turnaround, traveling to face Gonzaga on Monday. Omaha’s next contest is at LSU on Nov. 21.
Tipoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Baxter Arena in Omaha.
