Cal Poly at Montana
MISSOULA, Mont. (Interstat) — The Montana Grizzlies, fresh off a high-scoring road victory, return home to face the Cal Poly Mustangs in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup Friday at Dahlberg Arena.
Montana (3-1) is coming off a 102-93 win at UNLV on Tuesday, led by a 30-point, 8-assist performance from guard Money Williams. The Grizzlies’ offense has been potent, averaging 87.3 points per game, though they suffered a 91-68 loss at Stanford in their only other major test this season.
Cal Poly (2-1) arrives after a narrow 73-71 road win at Seattle last Saturday. Guard Hamad Mousa led the Mustangs with 18 points in that contest. The team’s season opened with a blowout 94-64 loss at Southern California before a dominant 101-79 home win over Division III Pacific Lutheran.
The game pits Montana’s high-powered offense against a Cal Poly squad seeking its second straight road win. The Grizzlies will look to protect their home court before a tough road trip to Texas A&M, while the Mustangs continue a challenging early-season stretch.
