Saint Peter`s at VCU
RICHMOND, Va. (Interstat) — The VCU Rams and Saint Peter’s Peacocks, both seeking a winning record in the young season, will face off Wednesday night at the Siegel Center.
Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with 1-1 records. VCU is coming off a narrow 80-77 home loss to Utah State on Friday. In that game, Nyk Lewis led the Rams with 19 points, while Jadrian Tracey added 16 points and three assists.
Saint Peter’s arrives in Richmond following a high-scoring 93-83 home victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. Brent Bland poured in 27 points for the Peacocks, with Bryce Eaton dishing out eight assists and TJ Robinson adding 16 points.
The game pits VCU’s high-octane offense, which scored 103 points in a season-opening win over Wagner, against a Saint Peter’s team that was held to 50 points in a road loss to Seton Hall but has since found its rhythm.
Wednesday’s contest begins a key stretch for both squads. VCU will travel to face ACC-foe North Carolina State on Monday, while Saint Peter’s will visit Delaware next Tuesday.
