UC Davis at Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — A pair of early-season unbeatens will clash Sunday when the UC Davis Aggies visit the Portland Pilots in a nonconference men’s basketball game at the Chiles Center.

Both teams enter the contest with 2-0 records. UC Davis is coming off an 80-68 home win over North Dakota State on Wednesday. Guard Connor Sevilla led the Aggies with 26 points in that victory. Portland defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 83-74 on Thursday, powered by Joel Foxwell’s near triple-double of 12 points, six rebounds and 10 assists.

The Aggies’ offense has been potent, averaging 88 points through their first two contests. Their defense was anchored by Niko Rocak, who recorded six blocks against North Dakota State.

The Pilots have also shown a high-scoring capability, putting up 120 points in a season-opening rout of Willamette. Their balanced attack features Foxwell’s playmaking and the interior presence of Jermaine Ballisager Webb.

Sunday’s game represents a final tune-up before challenging road trips for both squads. UC Davis visits Nevada and Colorado next week, while Portland travels to Wyoming next Saturday.
