Arkansas State at Stephen F. Austin
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (Interstat) — A pair of undefeated teams will clash Friday when the Arkansas State Red Wolves visit the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with 1-0 records after season-opening victories Monday.
Arkansas State earned a hard-fought 89-85 road win over Ohio. The Red Wolves were led by a trio of high-scoring performances: Chandler Jackson scored 21 points with eight rebounds and five assists, Joey Chammaa added 21 points and four rebounds, and Jaxon Ellingsworth contributed 14 points and six rebounds.
Stephen F. Austin dominated in its opener, cruising to a 103-76 home victory over Millsaps. The Lumberjacks’ offense was powered by Keon Thompson’s 20 points, while Lateef Patrick Jr. added 18 points and Jerald Colonel chipped in 13 points and four blocks.
The game will be the first of a challenging road stretch for Arkansas State, which plays seven of its next eight games away from home. Stephen F. Austin will look to defend its home court before embarking on a three-game road trip of its own.
