Cincinnati at Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) — A surging Cincinnati squad aims to continue its late-season push when it visits TCU in a key Big 12 Conference men’s basketball matchup Saturday at Dickies Arena.

The Bearcats (17-13, 8-9 Big 12) enter having won six of their last seven games, including a dominant 90-68 home victory over BYU on Tuesday. Guard Jizzle James led the way with 18 points in that win and has been a consistent catalyst, averaging 13.4 points over his last eight contests. His backcourt play will be critical against TCU’s pressure.

The Horned Frogs (20-10, 10-6), meanwhile, have secured a winning conference record and are playing for NCAA Tournament seeding. They have won five of their last six, including a 73-65 road win at Texas Tech on Tuesday. Forward Xavier Edmonds powered that victory with 20 points and has been a force, recording three double-doubles in his last six games. His interior matchup with Cincinnati’s frontcourt will be pivotal.

Cincinnati’s recent success has been fueled by efficient offense, scoring 90 or more points in three of its last four wins. Alongside James, Jalen Celestine and Baba Miller provided significant contributions against BYU.

TCU has shown resilience in close games, winning an overtime thriller at Oklahoma State last month. However, a recent 82-71 loss at UCF highlighted potential defensive vulnerabilities the Bearcats will look to exploit.

The game is a rematch of a Jan. 17 meeting in Cincinnati, which TCU won 81-77. The Horned Frogs hold the overall record advantage, but the Bearcats’ current form suggests a tightly contested battle in Fort Worth.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
