Georgia Tech at Clemson
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Interstat) — The Clemson Tigers will look to solidify their postseason resume and complete a regular-season sweep when they host the struggling Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at the Bi-Lo Center.
Clemson (21-9) enters the regular-season finale seeking momentum after a narrow 67-63 road loss at North Carolina on Tuesday. The Tigers, boasting a strong overall record, are positioned for an NCAA Tournament bid but aim to avoid a damaging late-season stumble.
Georgia Tech (11-19) arrives mired in a nine-game losing streak, its most recent a 76-65 home defeat to California on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets have not won since Jan. 27 and have lost 13 of their last 14 contests.
The Tigers defeated the Yellow Jackets 77-63 in Atlanta on Jan. 24, leading by double digits for most of the second half. Clemson has won four of the last five meetings in the series.
A key matchup will feature two of the conference’s top scorers. Georgia Tech guard Kowacie Reeves has been a bright spot during the skid, averaging 18.0 points over his last six games. He scored 19 in the loss to California.
Clemson will counter with forward RJ Godfrey, who is coming off a 22-point performance against the Tar Heels. Godfrey has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight games, providing consistent offense for the Tigers.
For Clemson, a victory would secure a winning conference record and enhance its seeding for next week’s ACC Tournament. For Georgia Tech, the game represents a final opportunity to gain positive momentum before the conference tournament begins.
Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
