HAMPTON, Va. (Interstat) — Michael Eley scored 21 points to lead Hampton to a 76-65 men’s basketball victory over Northeastern on Saturday at Convocation Center.

The Pirates (13-17) used a decisive second-half surge, outscoring the Huskies 43-27 after halftime to pull away. Hampton shot 50.9% from the floor and committed only three turnovers.

Youri Fritz led Northeastern (6-22) with 13 points. The Huskies struggled offensively, shooting just 3 of 20 from 3-point range. Hampton’s Etienne Strothers added 12 points.

An announced crowd of 1,897 saw the game.
