DAYTON, Ohio (Interstat) — The Dayton Flyers avenged an earlier loss and handed the Saint Louis Billikens just their third defeat of the season with a 77-62 victory in Atlantic 10 men’s basketball on Tuesday night at a sold-out University of Dayton Arena.

Dayton built a commanding 44-28 halftime lead and withstood a stronger second-half push from Saint Louis before 13,407 fans. The result split the regular-season series after Saint Louis won the first meeting by 31 points on Jan. 30.

The Flyers improved to 19-8 overall. The Billikens, who entered the game with the nation’s attention due to their 25-2 record, now sit at 25-3.
