Kent State Rallies to Edge Central Michigan in MAC Thriller

KENT, Ohio (Interstat) — Kent State stormed back from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Central Michigan 83-81 in a Mid-American Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday night at Memorial Athletics Center.

The Golden Flashes, now 21-7, were held to 32 first-half points by the Chippewas, who led 42-32 at the break. Kent State’s offense erupted for 51 points after intermission to complete the comeback before a crowd of 2,124. Central Michigan fell to 9-19 despite a balanced effort. The result avenged Kent State’s two-point loss at Central Michigan on Jan. 10. The Golden Flashes were pregame favorites and the combined score fell under the projected total.
