ATLANTA (Interstat) — Malachi Brown scored 19 points to lead Georgia State to a 66-64 victory over rival Georgia Southern in a Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers led 37-27 at halftime but had to hold off a second-half rally by the Eagles. Georgia Southern’s Tyren Moore hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left to pull within two, but the Panthers secured the win. Micah Tucker added 15 points for Georgia State. Moore led the Eagles with 14 points. Georgia State improved to 10-18, while Georgia Southern fell to 15-13. Attendance was 3,479.
