(Interstat) — Alphonzo Billups scored 25 points to lead Longwood to an 82-75 overtime victory over South Carolina Upstate in a Big South Conference men’s basketball game Saturday at Willet Hall. The Lancers outscored the Spartans 13-6 in the extra period. Billups added eight rebounds and three assists for Longwood, which improved to 14-14. Karmani Gregory led South Carolina Upstate with 23 points, and Mason Bendinger added 19 points and nine rebounds. The Spartans fell to 11-16. Longwood forced overtime by erasing a second-half deficit, then dominated the extra period to secure the win before a crowd of 2,173.
