LAFAYETTE, La. (Interstat) — Joshua Beadle scored 29 points to help Coastal Carolina hold off Louisiana-Lafayette 69-65 in a Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball game Thursday night at the Cajundome.

The Chanticleers led by seven at halftime and maintained a narrow advantage throughout the second half. The Ragin’ Cajuns cut the deficit to two points in the final minute, but Beadle sealed the win with two free throws with 12 seconds remaining.

Coastal Carolina improved to 16-11 overall. Jaxon Olvera and Dorian Finister each scored 19 points for Louisiana-Lafayette, which fell to 9-17. The Chanticleers shot 43.8% from the field and made 20 of 23 free throws, while the Ragin’ Cajuns were limited to 35.7% shooting. Attendance was 2,516.
