VEZAIE, Maine (Interstat) — The Maine Black Bears defeated the Vermont Catamounts 76-70 in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Thursday night at Cross Insurance Center. Maine led 38-24 at halftime and maintained its advantage despite Vermont scoring 46 second-half points. The Black Bears improved to 6-17 overall, while Vermont fell to 14-10. Attendance was 1,140. Vermont had been a 7.5-point favorite. The result avenged a Maine loss to Vermont last month.
