Boston College at Duke

DURHAM, N.C. (Interstat) — A surging Duke team, ranked among the nation’s elite, hosts a struggling Boston College squad in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball matchup Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils (20-1, 10-0 ACC) have won 10 consecutive games, their lone loss coming against Texas Tech in nonconference play on Dec. 20. They are off to their best ACC start in years, boasting a potent offense and stifling defense that has won conference games by an average margin of 22.2 points.

Duke is led by superstar forward Cameron Boozer, a national player of the year candidate. Boozer is averaging 24.1 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last seven games, including a 32-point, 9-rebound performance against Wake Forest on Jan. 24. He is coming off a 24-point, 8-rebound, 5-assist effort in a 72-58 win at Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Boston College (9-12, 3-7) has lost three of its last four, including a 73-66 home loss to Virginia last Saturday. The Eagles have found wins hard to come by, especially on the road, where they are 1-5 in ACC play.

The Eagles will rely on guard Donald Hand, who scored 20 points with six rebounds and four assists against Virginia. Hand has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in six of his last eight contests. Forward Jayden Hastings, who had 12 points and six rebounds against the Cavaliers, provides an interior presence.

Duke has dominated the recent series, winning the last 12 meetings. Boston College’s last win at Cameron Indoor Stadium came in 2017. The Blue Devils won both matchups last season by an average of 28 points.

For Boston College, the daunting task is to find an answer for Boozer and Duke’s depth while navigating one of the most hostile environments in college basketball. For Duke, the game represents a chance to maintain its commanding conference lead before a pivotal weekend showdown at North Carolina.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
