Iowa State at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. (Interstat) — A high-stakes Big 12 rematch awaits Saturday when the Iowa State Cyclones visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Iowa State (17-2, 5-2 Big 12), coming off a dominant 87-57 win over UCF, seeks to solidify its standing atop the conference. The Cyclones’ only two losses came in tough road environments at Cincinnati and Kansas. They previously handled Oklahoma State 83-71 in Ames on Jan. 10, led by 19 points and five assists from standout guard Joshua Jefferson.

Jefferson enters as one of the nation’s most versatile players, averaging a near triple-double over his last seven games. He is coming off a 17-point, 12-assist performance against UCF.

Oklahoma State (14-5, 3-3) looks to protect its home court and avenge its earlier loss. The Cowboys have dropped three of their last four, including a narrow 68-65 defeat at TCU on Tuesday. Guard Kanye Clary, who had 11 points and six assists in the first meeting, is a key catalyst for the Cowboys’ offense.

The matchup hinges on backcourt execution. Iowa State’s defense, which held Oklahoma State to 39% shooting in the first game, will aim to disrupt Clary and force turnovers. The Cowboys must find an answer for Jefferson’s all-around game and improve their perimeter defense after allowing 13 3-pointers in the January loss.

A win would give Iowa State a critical season sweep and keep pace in the conference race. For Oklahoma State, a victory would provide a crucial Quadrant 1 resume boost and steady a season that has seen recent struggles.

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CST Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
